What We Do

The Children’s Ministries department provides Central’s local churches with training that enables local ministry leaders to effectively minister to children and their families.


Our department functions primarily to equip and train lower division Sabbath School, Vacation Bible School, and outreach leaders, teachers, and families in the methods of effectively reaching and the discipleship the hearts and minds of millennial children ages birth to 14 years with the love of Jesus.


We offer basic and advanced certification training for anyone working with young people as well as advanced certification training for Children’s Ministry directors.


Our department is also responsible for all programming and staffing of the children’s divisions at Soquel camp meeting.


Meet the Team

Lisa Plasencia



Lisa Plasencia joins the Central family as the children’s ministry director replacing Rosa Gillham who retired on August 1. Plasencia has 12 years of experience in children’s ministry at the conference level and her masters in communication and brings unique talents that include the ability to teach people how to give presentations, work together in groups, and how to use communication to build bridges and unite church members.

Her emphasis will be to disciple children on how to communicate, connect, and create an abiding relationship with God, and impact their local church and community.
