What We Do
The Asian Pacific Ministries Department coordinates and provides leadership to the ministries of local churches with an Asian/Pacific membership. Facilitates a number of events that create community among the Asian/Pacific members of the Central California Conference and assists in processing pastoral transitions in Asian/Pacific congregations.
Meet the Team
Asian/Pacific Ministries Director
Pastor Manuao P. Maui’a was born and raised in Samoa, and moved to United States for further education at Loma Linda University, La Sierra campus. From there, he was called to pastor the Samoan Group in Tacoma, Wash. over 30 years ago. It was in 1997 when Maui‘a served the South Eastern California conference at the Santa Ana Samoan Church. He moved north five years later when he was called to pastor the Compton Samoan Church. It was in 2008 that Maui’a joined the Central California Conference team, pastoring the South San Francisco Samoan and San Jose Samoan church district.
It was November 2015 when he was appointed to be the director of Asian Pacific Ministries. His responsibility includes working together with conference leaders. In addition to the oversight of the Asian Pacific churches, he participates on several committees and the installment of the new pastors. Maui’a’s passion for evangelism and preaching continues. He and his wife, Aneriueta have five children, two daughters and three sons. Two have followed in his ministry footsteps achieving MDiv degrees form Andrews University.
